Turning 40 has made me reflect on life and how we CAN get better with age. In fact, today I feel leaner, smarter, richer, happier, more connected, more self-aware, more successful, more confident, more responsible, more sober, more spiritual, more vibrant, and more loving than I was a decade ago… It didn’t come without effort, and even some health challenges both physically and relationally. It feels good, and is a testament to health optimization — mind, body, and spirit.
The more we build energy capacity into the body, the more resilience we have to weather challenges and bounce back. But, at 40 I’ve also realized I need to stop treating my body like a high-performance racecar having to constantly run so many pit stops and fix things. I’ve decided it’s time to develop a relationship to the body that is more aligned with nature–and its cycles of growth, composting, transformation, and the crocus of new life emerging.
As we age, our bodies narrate the tales of our lived experiences and the joy of moments cherished. Yet, in every story, there lies a potent desire—to embrace each year with greater energy, clarity, and purpose. My approach to a vibrant life isn't about vanity; it's about fostering deep and serenity. How? Through a lifestyle that harmonizes:

Now my Clockwize age says I’m 39 but honestly, I don’t really have any conclusions as to which biological age clock tests are actually accurate (the science is way too early). Biohacking: A Voyage of Discovery and Vitality 🚀
Embarking on this biohacking voyage has been a narrative of discovery, shared eagerly in past newsletters. Today, I'm thrilled to report a cascade of improvements in both my physical well-being and overall energy. This journey of experimentation has led me to a profound realization: biohacking is less about the destination and more about the journey of discovery, experimentation, and sometimes, rediscovery.
Recently, I've navigated through various dietary landscapes, from plant-based diets to endurance sports and Hatha yoga, achieving a level of leanness I haven’t seen in my body since I was in my 20s. Yet, an intriguing shift towards a higher carb, lower protein diet presented new insights and challenges, particularly in managing blood sugar spikes, muscle mass, blood albumin levels, and hair thickness. Through it all, the essence of biohacking remains clear: it's a deeply personal and evolving process of experimentation.
While I do plan to consume more protein and start lifting again, right now my focus is on my spirituality and detoxification. I’m learning a lot from my plant-based partner, having fun trying new things, and seeing how my body responds.
The beauty of biohacking lies in its iterative testing and learning approach—what works today may evolve tomorrow. It's a delightful experiment in physical and dietary adjustments, with the freedom to pivot as we learn more about our bodies.

Cellular Vigor: The Core of Vitality 🔋
As you may already be aware, I am on a mission to extend healthspan for as many people as possible. But how do you do that?
Well, as explained extensively in my book, The Spark Factor, and online course, Your Healthspan Journey, one of the most crucial things to know is that if you don’t tend to your mitochondrial function, you will not have healthy energy flow to the body, and as a result, your batteries and your cells will degrade faster.
One of the things that happens when mitochondria become dysfunctional is they start to produce oxidative stress. Which is basically the same as exhaust fumes coming off of your cells' engines.
